Mission De Los Arroyos Report Archive - April 2007Now for the good news...Over the last year (from February 2006 to February 2007), the U.S. economy grew by almost 2 million jobs. So, how the Phoenix metropolitan area fare? According to The Phoenix Business Journal, ASU's Blue Chip Job Growth Update rated Phoenix again #1 for job growth with 89,200 new jobs or a 4 .8% increase in total nonagricultural employment. Utah was second with 52,000 new jobs, a 4.45% increase. Homes sales may be slow now, but if our growth rate continues (as is predicted) and if builders continue to build fewer new homes (as they are), the inventory of re-sale homes will be absorbed by new residents looking for places to live. Long term, things still look good.
